Providing quality accounting, taxation and business advice at rates that smaller businesses can afford.
Our aim is to assist businesses in setting up financial reporting systems and then produce management accounts at suitable intervals. In addition, we will prepare year end accounts, audits, personal and corporation tax returns and can offer tax planning advice.
We can also provide assistance with budgeting, cash-flow forecasts, breakeven analysis, strategic planning and other associated services.
We pledge a direct, open and very personal service tailored to your needs. We are convinced that our experience and flexibility will offer clients an intelligent and versatile approach and real value for money.
Audit and Assurance
As registered auditors we are able to report on companies, pension schemes and other entities for normal annual reporting and also for ad-hoc reports such as demanded by regulatory bodies or for particular transactions such as may be required to facilitate buy-outs or buy-ins.
At AccountAbility we feel that an audit should provide companies with something more than just compliance to meet with statutory obligations. Not only should it be a reassurance to shareholders that financial management is being handled in a competent way, but it should also provide clear recommendations to help efficiency, or improve systems, where necessary.
We have many years of experience with diverse businesses and organisations and it is this experience that will help us to provide you with clear recommendations that should assist the business in its short and long term goals.
With the altering of the thresholds for audit requirement many companies of a substantial size find themselves not subject to formal audit but still requiring to fulfil Companies Act requirements regarding the content of both the accounts which are still required to be prepared for their shareholders and also their statutory reporting requirements to Companies House, which in many circumstances are virtually identical to their previous responsibilities.
We tailor our work such that these aims are met alongside providing the cost-effective requirements of the modern smaller business as this is indeed our marketplace. We have many years of experience in looking after companies of the size who now no longer need to have an audit certificate attached to their accounts but who represent significant entities with commitments to financiers or other interested parties and who require assistance in meeting those commitments.
Our personal, hands-on type of dealing with our clients means that we are only ever a telephone call away and that companies and management are aware that they can discuss issues with us at any time and avoid unexpected, and unwelcome, surprises.
Partnerships / Sole Trader Accounts
Often the preparation of partnership or sole trader accounts is linked simply to the generation of appropriate figures to ascertain tax liabilities for the entity involved. At AccountAbility we do not take this approach as we appreciate that businesses of this size often require the input of someone more detached from the business but with a clear knowledge and understanding of it and what makes it tick. We therefore take the same approach as for larger businesses that we assist and offer our insight and experience wherever required.
We aim to assist companies who require regular, timely and accurate financial information but who may not be of a size to demand the services of a full-time accountant. We achieve these aims by either designing systems such that in conjunction with ourselves clients can maintain sufficient records to facilitate conversion by ourselves to meaningful management information on a regular basis or by designing systems such that clients may derive the basic information they require from their own records.
Business Advisory & Strategic Planning
In combination with all of the above services we seek to give our clients relevant, timely and reliable advice which will assist them to improve their businesses, profits and short and long-term goal-planning. Our experience in a wide range of business areas and scenarios allows us to do this with confidence.
Tax is not surprisingly a major issue to many of our clients of all sizes and we can offer short and long-term tax planning services for businesses. This may comprise reviewing VAT status and arrangements in the short term to appraise cashflow implications to the other end of the scale planning towards exit-strategies from a business and long term tax out-turn. This may comprise combinations of Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax strategies.
Alongside the management accounting services offered, we can prepare VAT returns and other related government returns such as EC sales lists, government statistical returns etc. We as a standard practice factor these matters in when reviewing and devising systems.
We also offer services to comply with all taxation requirements including tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies and the related returns such as forms P11d etc.
We offer a payroll service alongside access to our trusted professional referred service-providers.
Startup / Incorporation
We have been involved in the start-up and/or incorporation of many businesses and can offer a full, bespoke service dependent on requirements.
Whether looking to acquire or dispose of a business we can offer services to assist covering the whole transaction. This may comprise appraisal of the initial proposition and viability, through to approaches to potential financiers and assisted negotiation with interested parties. Services in this area include preparation of business plans, cashflows and related information, performance of due diligence assignments, review of tax out-turn and establishment of corporate structures following a transaction.
